TOURISM

Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in South Africa, employing over 1,5 million people and making large contributions to South Africa’s GDP. This is why Tourism is offered as a subject at Matric Level.

The syllabus allows students to explore the concept of 'service' and the impact that this has on the South African economy. It also looks at government strategies that have been put in place to facilitate the expansion of Tourism in South Africa and indeed on an international basis.

Students will gain insight into what it is like to work in the Tourism industry and have access to information which will help them develop their own career opportunities.

Tourism is a non-designated subject, however many universities DO accept Tourism on their entry requirements.
